Ethiopian teff, known scientifically as *Tegnema teff*, is the nutritional lifeline of the Horn of Africa. Although it is the smallest whole grain in the world (less than 1 mm in diameter), its unique nutritional value has made it the focus of global attention as one of the most powerful “superfoods.” Gluten-free: It is an excellent and safe alternative for people with wheat allergies (celiac disease) or those following a gluten-free diet. Rich in minerals and protein: It contains high levels of iron, calcium, fiber, and protein compared to many other grains.

From the Ethiopian highlands, birthplace of the coffee tree, our beans come from smallholder farms in Harar, Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. We work directly with farmer cooperatives, and every harvest is hand-sorted and sun-dried on raised beds.
